More recommendations from Bicycle-Cards.co.uk – this month a few ‘oldies’ but goodies!

Extreme Cuts with KeoneI have a confession to make. Though I love Bicycle Card Magic, I am not much into XCM (extreme card magic). However, I know many of you are, and this classic DVD has all the card flourishes you could want, and is currently HALF PRICE at only £11.49.

In my continuing quest (crusade sounds too grand) to encourage people to read good magic books, I want to mention this gem by one of our home grown talents, Guy Hollingworth. This is a beautiful book in every way – well-written, well-illustrated, and with some amazing card magic within its pages. I’ve had the privilege of seeing Guy perform some of this stuff and it really is brilliant. £26.99

Dear Mister Fantasy - By John Bannon Spending time with a John Bannon DVD recently has reminded me how much I enjoy his work. This is an extremely fine introduction to his clever, subtle magic, and is worth the price for the 4 Ace tricks alone. £24.99
When I’m talking to non-magicians, the trick they most often ask about is ‘the one where the chosen card ends up behind the car window.’ Here is a great little version of this effect from the ingenious David Forrest and now the DVD version is reduced to only £13.99

Magic With Meaning - By Eugene Burger and Robert Neale Regular readers will know I am both a Eugene Burger and a Magic Book fan. So this one comes highly recommended. This is a modern expanded reprint of the original classic. If you want to be stimulated and challenged to think more creatively about your magic then this will be a wonderful investment. £24.99

We have imported all our mini-reviews/recommendations from our sister site (BicycleTricks.co.uk – which will no longer be operational after tomorrow). By the way, ‘Trick’ of the Month is slightly misleading because we have got into the habit of highlighting three items, which could be a trick, book or dvd. Attack Of the Bag - by Craig Petty I was privileged to see Craig Petty lecture recently. He is a clever guy and his routines with this coin are a knockout – and best of all, require very little (or no!) sleight of hand. Recommended. Includes two bags with the DVD. Use any currency. £14.96
Blank - By Craig Petty Although Craig is primarily a coin man, he also showed us some very clever card work. Here is a collection of it on DVD. All designed for high impact at minimum effort. £17.99
My Precious - By Haim Goldenberg - Trick Here’s an unnusual and appealing mental trick ideal for platform or close up work. The bare bones of the plot is locating each of 4 spectator’s rings, but it is an entertaining and clever routine, which fits in the pocket easily. 1/3 off at the moment, so only £20.70
