I will write this in shorthand since Magicians should understand! You may have noticed that not every pack of Bicycle Cards are perfectly cut with the result that they sometimes have uneven borders (presumably one of the selling points for the Masters Edition cards – although this sounds very Microsoft to me – turning a product fault into a selling point for a later product – end of rant!).
This means they can lend themselves to being a very subtle one-way back design. If you know what you are looking for you can spot this from some distance and at speed. I have recently heard of some knowledgeable magicians being duped with a trick based on this principle. If you are a magician, your mind should already be rushing off with the possibilities! Enjoy…
